Al Gore started Current TV with investor Joel Hyatt, and it has grown into an Emmy Award winner TV channel. It sent it’s first television programming in the US on August 1st, 2005 while deploying operations in the UK on March 12th 2007. Current TV is also international and has outlets in Italy, and Canada as well. The current tv network is 24 hours on the air, without commercial interruptions during the evenings.

Current TV is available via Satellite, as well as Cable in a multitude of European, Canadian, and American citizens.  It’s global programming offers vast variety of news programming, shows, reality TV, sports, and movies. The viewership of Current TV ranges, but it’s most watched by the baby boomer category.

One recent current event concerning current tv is that two if its reporters got detained in North Korea for apparently covering the latest tension in that region too closely where as the government regarded them as international spies.  The UN is closely following the incident to ensure that the Current TV reporters are returned home safely.
