From the director of “Se7en”, David Fincher, comes one of the most intriguing and mind blowing thrillers of all time, “Fight Club”. David Fincher is a man often admired for his unique style of making movies. The trend began with the release of “Se7en” in 1995, carrying on with the 1997 release of “The Game” and came to the forefront even further with the release of “Fight Club” in 2000.
David Fincher, born in Colorado began his career directing commercials and music videos for some of the top players in the industry. He became a household name after the release of “Se7en”, a mystery thriller and became an A-list director with the arrival of “Fight Club”. In “Fight Club” we are taken into the depressed world of The Narrator (Edward Norton) who is suffering from insomnia and the only cure he is offered is attending support groups for various diseases. He is portrayed as someone who cannot stand up and shout out his opinions, someone who is not able to vent out his anger and frustration. On the other hand is Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) who is so dogmatic that he freely expresses his opinions and stands up firmly supporting his aggression. Throughout the movie we see fights scheduled between people in what goes onto become a club for venting male frustration and anger. The movie is so brilliantly narrated and sown together that the biggest secret it hides is the very reason why people control their emotions and do not let out their anger.
The musical score for the movie has been tastefully handled by the Dust brothers and the editing is top notch. At no point does it make you even aware of what it is going to present in the end. A true master piece, “Fight Club” is one for the ages.
