“The King of Queens “is a comedy/drama TV show created by David Litt and Michael J. Weithorn involving the troubles of a middle class family in Queens, New York. The King of Queens is a live action sitcom chiefly produced by CBS productions. The show has been going on for 9 seasons till 2007, and has done 207 episodes in its run from 1998-2007.
The main plot of the King of Queens revolves around Doug Heffernan and his family, living in New York. The character of Doug Heffernan is masterfully carried out by Emmy Award winner,Kevin James with Carrie Heffernan portrayed by Leah Remini being his wife. The role of Doug Heffernan is that of an average guy working a blue collar job in NY with a rather boyish mentality. His addiction for food is apparent from his size and his inadequacy in controlling his diet is one of the chief reasons for arguments between him and his wife Carrie. Carrie on the other hand is very beautiful and works as a lawyer for a firm in the city. Her zeal for vigorous shopping is often the topic of disputes in the show and she has also been known to have quite a temper. She pushes Doug into doing things that are better for him and in improving his morals although none of them seem to work out. The third most important character of the show is played by Jerry Stiller, father of superstar comedian Ben stiller. He plays Arthur Spooner, Carrie’s father, and is often the irascible one often telling questionable stories of what he claims is his past. He picks on several of Doug’s friends and gets on Doug’s nerves when he comes in the middle of Doug and Carrie’s relationship.
King of Queens involves a lot of characters with friends, cousins and helpers playing a part of the chaos and confusion around the Heffernan household.
