This is a true story of two lifelong friends who go on a quest for glory as they try to conquer a 13,000 feet tall mountain, the famed North Face of the Eiger. This movie will have you gripping the sides of your chair, as you watch these men climb a steep, almost vertical, mountain that is covered with ice and where one bad judgment call means a certain death. This is what the main characters are faced with as they seem to worry about only one thing, man’s mortality, and the way to avoid it by leaving something behind that will be remembered forever. As the movie is set in the 1930’s Germany, we also see the Nazi philosophy spreading, as well as some romance to occupy our minds.
