24 is an American made TV action/ drama series. 24 is a real time broadcast which means that each season describes a 24 hour time period in the life of Jack Bauer. Jack Bauers works with the American government in attempts to fight terrorist threats to the country. He often works with L.A. Counter Terrorist Unit in their attempts to save the nation from the attacks. The show also displays actions and lives of other CTU agents beside Bauer. Most of the action in the first few seasons took place in California and mainly Los Angeles, but other locations are covered as well.

This dynamic and adrenalin pumped show works in real time, with a counter that keeps going even during the commercials to add to the sense of the time passing by. The show is very fast paced and complex and the characters are often forced to make decisions where they have to sacrifice something for a greater good – capture of the terrorists. The role of Jack Bauer is played by Kiefer Southerland who received a Golden Globe for his work in this show.
