Astro Boy will be a computer animated 3-d feature film based on the very popular Japanese franchise of the same name. It is set in a futuristic city, and Astro Boy is a young robot with amazing powers. He was created by the brilliant scientist Tenma, who is given a voice by Nicolas Cage in the film. Using positive blue energy, Astro Boy is given strength beyond the imagination of any normal being, and has many features akin to superheroes such as x-ray vision, incredible speed and strength and the ability to fly.

Astro Boy’s voyage is a trip to find out about himself, to gain the use of his emotions and to feel what it is like to be a human being, as he gains strength from emotional encounters that will help him to realize and embrace his destiny as a hero. Astro Boy will have to save the entire city in the process, after he finds out that people he cares about are in grave danger and must be saved.
