CSI is an American made crime drama TV series. CSI is short for Crime Scene Investigation, and the series feature Los Angeles forensic experts who try to unveil the events behind intricate and mysterious cases. For the first eight seasons the main protagonist of CSI was Dr. Gill Grissom, played by William Petersen. Then, in the middle of the ninth season he was replaced with Laurence Fishburne as Dr. as Dr. Raymond Langston, an ex medical doctor who decided to fight his demons of the past by becoming a crime investigation doctor.

Although the show has often been criticized by the police and other authorities as being untrue to the real police procedures and false depictions of real police work on a crime scene investigation, the show was widely critically acclaimed and was several times during its running history awarded for its qualities. The show often features never before seen ultra-modern tools and gadgets and techniques which moved it to the realm of science fiction, and there are several episodes that feature some supernatural motif such as dead people talking about how they died.
