Desperate Housewives is an American made TV show, created by Marc Cherry. The show features four suburban housewives as they struggle with their family lives and personal issues. The setting of the series is the fictional city of Fairview, Eagle State and more particularly the Wisteria Lane Street where most of the action takes place. The housewives are Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp and Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis.

What is the most interesting is that the story is narrated by a dead person, and everything is shown as through her eyes. That person is their dead neighbor Mary Alice Young who is played by Brenda Strong, and she can be seen in the show in occasional flashbacks or dreams. She narrates the lives of the seemingly calm and quiet suburban wives who have many secrets and intriguing plots underneath the surface of typical housewives.

Each season has its own central mystery which is a recurring motif in the entire season, and all the other private intrigues of the four central characters are set around that one central plot.
