Gossip Girl is an American TV drama series based on the series of novels written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The novels as well as the TV series revolve around lives of rich teenagers who attend an elite preo school in the Upper East Side, NY. The show features nine speaking roles and several recurring characters who appear intermitently in some of the episodes. The main protagonist of the series are Serena van der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) Dan Humphrey (played by Penn Badgley), Nate archibald (played by Chace Crawford), Jenny Humphrey (played by Taylor Momsen) Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick), Vanessa abrams (played by Jessica Szohr), Lily Bass (played by Kelly Rutherford), Rufus Humphrey (played by Matthew Settle) and «Gossip Girl» (played by Kristin Bell – only the voice). ll these characters are mutually involved and they form, transform and end relationships with eachother throughout the series. One notable characteristic of the series are the costumes, designed by today’s top shelf designers which adds to the luxurious feel of their prestigious, elite prep school, and very affluent households.
