House, or House, M.D. as it is sometimes referred to, is an American television show which features Dr. Gregory House (played by Hugh Laurie), an eccentric and extraordinary medical mastermind who leads a team of diagnosticians. His team includes Dr. Robert Chase, Dr. Allison Cameron and Dr. Eric Foreman during the first three seasons. The concept of the show is that the team, formed around the genius Dr. House is supposed to diagnose the undiagnosable.

The team and Dr. House especially try to diagnose and treat patients’ illnesses by discovering and unveiling their lies. However the main focus is on the protagonist, Dr. House who is a misanthropic, painkiller-abusing medical genius and most of the storylines revolve around his unconventional and erratic methods and the reactions they arise in his coworkers and other characters. Most of the episodes show the team as they try to find the diagnosis for the primary patient as they employ the differential diagnosis technique and write down on a whiteboard all the possible diagnosis, and they range from completely common, to some which are rare even in medical books.
