At the very beginning of the HD movie trailer the charming main character Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) gives us an introduction to his world. It is one of fishing and hunting with a charming view of the sunsets, as described in his own words. All they have is a little problem- the pests. But everyone has those. The only difference is that in this world of Vikings, the pests are dragons! And fighting and taking down dragons is the Vikings’ way of life. Hiccup has always wanted to be a great Viking, and prove himself, so when he manages to trap a dragon he is ecstatic. Upon finding him Hiccup can’t bring himself to kill the injured dragon, so he ends up freeing it. Ultimately the dragon, whom he names Toothless, becomes his friend, which is unheard of in the land of Vikings and dragons. As a huge battle between the two species is about to take place, Hiccup and his dragon Toothless have the task of convincing everyone that a friendship between the two worlds isn’t impossible.
