As you look at the movie sample, the first thing you see is the face of lovely America Ferrera, best known for her role in the TV series Ugly Betty who in this hilarious wedding comedy, plays the Mexican-American soon-to-be bride bride, Lucia Ramirez. On the other hand, her fiancee Marcus Boyd (Lance Gross) is African-American. Upon finishing college and returning home, they decide their families should meet so that they could tell them the good news- they’re getting married. However, it’s not only their families that are in for a surprise as they realize that their dads have already met, and are less than fond of each other. Furthermore, both families feel strongly about their heritage and refuse to compromise when it comes to having traditional weddings- they both want it in their own traditional way. With the wedding date quickly approaching and the dads bending over backwards to outdo one another, this film is a non stop laugh fest that will have you feeling really good about your family. As the bride and groom endure their dads’ outrageous behaviour, they truly embrace the meaning of “for better or for worse”.
