As we see in the short movie trailer Season of the Witch is a historical thriller, involving dark supernatural forces. After returning home from a crusade, Lavey (Nicolas cage) finds that his homeland has been destroyed by the Black Plague. Believing that a witch (Claire Foy) is the one who has brought this curse from hell upon them and is responsible for their homeland’s misfortune, the church orders Lavey to lead the other knights including his comrade (Ron Perlman) in transporting her to a secluded abbey where her powers are to be destroyed. During their trip they endure various hardships in the unforgiving wilderness. They are attacked by vicious wild beasts, and many of them die along the way. Having finally reached their destination, ready to deliver the witch, instead of the monks who are supposed to diminish the witch’s powers, they are met by an unexpected horrific revelation. What they had encountered in wars or the wild up until now couldn’t have prepared them for what is about to happen in the most crucial fight for their lives.
