Smallville describes the early life of the world’s greatest hero – Superman. After a huge meteor shower in 1989, Martha and Jonathan Kent found a baby inside of what was left of a spaceship after crash landing and they decided to adopt him. Their prayers to have a baby have been answered, but they decided not to tell young Clark the truth about his origin. In 2001, we see young Clark Kent as he is trying to blend in with his high school friends.

On the surface, he looks like any other high school kid, he has two best friends Pete Ross and Chloe Sullivan, and he is in love with the prettiest girl in the school – Lana Lang. However, this is a bit more difficult for him because he has to keep a secret from them – that he has amazing superpowers. He discovers them along the way and learns how to use them, all the while trying to look normal and just like any other local kid. His future arch enemy Lex Luthor is a friend here and he keeps secretly investigating Clark Kent’s background.
